The reason I'm doing the image is because I'm getting ready to transfer data from my old computer to my new computer.
PS: I put the information for the wrong computer in my first post. I won't be able to do this until tonight because it tied up the computer for over 4 hours.
I'll also try booting from Rescue Media and try the backup again. I'll try running the CHKDSK /F on both drives. jp, I made sure that only the D drive was selected for the image. If the problem persists even after that, then this shouldn't make a difference, but try creating bootable Rescue Media and performing the exact same backup job in that environment, which will any possible influences from other applications in the OS environment. If you're certain that's not the issue by having reviewed the log to confirm that it's not trying to back up additional partitions, try running CHKDSK /F on both your source and destination volumes. Reflect does support capturing images of partitions from multiple separate source disks in a single job, so it's somewhat easy to inadvertently have additional partitions selected, especially if you have enough disks that the first step of the backup wizard doesn't show all of your disks in a single view. Sometimes when this happens it's because the user inadvertently included partitions on separate disks in their backup selection, which causes the job to try to back up a lot more data than they expected. If the problem persists even after that, then this shouldn't make a difference, but try creating bootable Rescue Media and performing the exact same backup job in that environment, which will any possible influences from other applications in the OS environment.īy M MacKenrick - 8 September 2020 8:31 PM Please cut and paste the primary log file showing the error and where it occurred here. It’s a fairly new gaming computer so it’s reasonably fast.

I have only recently started using Macrium Reflect but have used Norton Ghost for many many years and recently the MS backup software that comes with Windows.

I used Reflect a month ago to make a Full image of my C drive without any problems to the first Ext.

First after rebooting the computer, next I tried using a different partition of the Ext HD that has about 600 GB of free space, I’ve tried using a different Ext HD. It runs for about 4 hours and at the end I get the error message described above. I have it set the retention rules to keep One Full backup and two Differential backups and unchecked Incremental. I have left the default Medium Compression. I keep getting an error message (“Backup aborted – Write operation failed – There is not enough space on the disk), when I try to make an image of my D drive to an external Seagate HD. My D drive has about 300 GB of data. By M MacKenrick - 8 September 2020 5:22 PM
